Is there any way to tell which posts you have already read

I know that many sites change the color of links you have already clicked on. This provides a visual indication of what you have already read. Is this just an over site or is there a reason for you not doing so? I often find myself reading the same posts. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Looking at the page where i seen this question, there are folders. I believe If yellow, then there is new material. If white, then it has been read.
